Mens' CrossTraining

One way to strengthen the integrity of the church is to strengthen the families of our church. As leaders in the home, it is the men's responsibility to encourage his family to godliness. The men of Faith Baptist meet monthly for a breakfast that is centered around a time of prayer, testimonies, and a challenge from the Word of God.

Our men's ministry is called crosstraining, and the reason is because we believe that the cross of Christ represents the most important moment in history - the moment that Christ gave up His life and shed His blood in order that we would have eternal life in heaven. We are in training to represent Christ in our daily lives in both words and actions.

At our monthly Saturday morning meetings, we have a hearty breakfast, followed by a testimony from one of our men. Following the testimony, we continue our journey through the book of Philippians, and finally a time of sharing prayer requests and praying for them. At the end of our time together, we go out into the community to "let our lights shine." As men we go to the local golf course to play a round, meet to spend an afternoon skeet shooting, or get together to tailgate before a sporting event. It is not always a game or sporting event, however. As Christian men we take very seriously the command in Scripture to care for the widows and those in need. On occasion, we have spent a Saturday afternoon helping wherever it is necessary. In a matter of hours our men have painted, put up trim, powerwashed, patched walls, installed lights, fixed plumbing problems, taken out trees, and performed routine maintenance on vehicles.  We have a healthy balance of entertainment and ministry through CrossTraining.

We have had excellent participation, and look forward to what the Lord has in store for us as a growing ministry with the men of Faith Baptist.
