We are excited about Missions Conference 2010 at Faith Baptist Church! We have begun making preparations already to make this a very memorable event that will honor God, encourage believers, and renew our desire for missions. The theme of this year’s Conference is: People Need the Lord: If God So Loved the World…shouldn’t we? On March 24th-28th we will be welcoming three missionary families into the church to hear about each of their unique ministries: - Mike and Carolyn Davidson – Bible and Ministry Instructors with International Partnership Ministries, Inc.
- Matias and Kristine Espinel – Missionaries on deputation to Uruguay, South America
- Nathan and Karie Owens – Missionaries in Cameroon, Africa
Make plans to be here every night for the preaching and multimedia presentations, and also for the Missions Banquet on Saturday evening at 6:00pm. This year’s banquet will be a very different banquet than in the past. We will be hosting an international dinner, served family-style, with food choices from around the world, including the United States, for those with less courageous appetites. Admission is free, but tickets are required. Tickets can be picked up beginning the first week in March. Be in prayer now for the safety of these missionaries as they travel, as well as for their health as they endure their busy schedules. Their contact information is included so you can write them a quick note, if you would like, to introduce yourself and let them know that they are in your prayers. This year’s Valentine’s event will be one to remember! We are going to be having an event called Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner? on Saturday evening, February 13th. To participate in the event, you and your spouse, fiancée, or friend will sign up this week under the host home of whom you would like to go for dinner. It is important to act fast, because once the list is full, it’s full! It would be good for you to sign up under a family you don’t know, or you’d like to know better, and it is your responsibility to create a side dish or salad for the meal, whichever you sign up for. Sunday the last day to sign up, so be sure to reserve your spot at the table! At 5:30, you will arrive at the host home for dinner and fellowship. The host home will make the entrée and one couple will make salad, and the other couple(s) will make a side dish. At 7:15, we will all meet back at the church for coffee, tea, and dessert. During the time at church, we will fellowship for a little while and then be entertained by a couples’ game show. Pastor will close out the evening, and everyone will be leaving by 8:15 to return home. The purpose of this event is an inside fellowship time to get to know our own people better, however, visitors can be invited, but they must be signed up. There is much confusion in the world today, and apathy has become commonplace within the body of Christ. Sadly, in churches throughout North America, the revived Christian life has been replaced with complacency. As an evangelist, Seth Ferguson feels that it is his responsibility to mercifully proclaim the truth of God's Word for the purpose of seeing the local church revived and the lost won to Christ. It is his desire to labor together with pastors, in the power of God's might, that the body of Christ might retain the joy of God's salvation, and therefore that the lost might see Christ and believe. Because of God's mercy and by His grace, we can see revival today! We will be having Evangelistic Meetings at Faith Baptist Church beginning March 7-12. This will be a great time to focus on personal evangelism, and to be encouraged in our soul-winning efforts. Invite your friends and co-workers, and make plans now to attend! The Evangelistic Meetings begin Sunday, March 7th and continue all week. The Meetings begin at 7:00 nightly, and childcare will be provided in the nursery.
